Emergent information technologies are transforming the way we produce, storage, process, and use information. These changes have the potential to transform how governments operate. For example, the spaces for citizen participation, the design of public policies, and the provision of public services are being renovated through the digital transformation.
However, it is challenging to fulfill the promises of this digital transformation and achieve better government performance. We need to pitch in to clarify our minds about effective uses of emergent technologies in the public sector. I seek to contribute to this understanding through my research on information capacity, the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector, and public innovation.
